That's the one thing i hate about having email as account name, if they can find out your email and hack into it they're halfway into your gw account.

I believe that happened to several people from what I've heard. Several forums were hacked including either War Machine's or EvIL's and several people got their accounts stolen because they used the same pass and email for the forum as their Guild Wars account.

After I was kicked off I tried to get in again but I kept getting the message someone else is playing with you account unable to loggin.
You would think that the person that was playing under my account would be kicked of as soon as I logged in again which wasnt the case. And to Don I did write down my password but it was in a 100% safe place. And I know they didnt get my pass with forum registration trick, because I used an unique 12 digit long password that I only used for guild wars. |

Well, were you playing in any internet cafes, accessing your email in any cafes? It may be a longshot but there could be a 'hacker' looking over your soulder n those places, if you do use them.

You still have your original disk, right? It should be some use to you, because it is proof that you are owner of that account. GW support should do something with that information. When you send them your key, that should be at least one indication that there is something wrong. Writing down a key code is not enough, but it should be ground to further investigate.

To ischuros I had not played in any internet cafes or on other people's computers, so that couldnt be it.
At Silent Kitty yes I do still have my original guild wars and factions games. Complete with activation card with scratch layer in factions and the paper that you had to rip open in guild wars containing my serials. And I have the receits from the stores where I bought the games all of which I can fax or send pic to them. But they need to reply to me first which they havnt done yet, but there was a weekend between it. So im just gonna have to wait and see. |

[QUOTE=Olfin Bedwere]All 5 times he posted?
8. Do Not Abuse the English Language This is a message board, not a chat room. Secondly, Don't use "Leet-Speak" here. As such, you have all the time necessary to articulate your posts in a coherent matter. "You" is only two more letters than "u." It won't kill you to type them. Completely illegible posts are subject to moderation - and I can't guarantee their accuracy of 'translating' the author’s original message. Additionally, when one punctuation works instead of 10 (example: ? instead of ?!?!), use one. I agree with you completely Olfin, but it has proven pointless to address this subject, in general. In regards to your quote: "As such, you have all the time necessary to articulate your posts in a coherent matter." Articulate: One can only use this word when referring to verbal or phonetic examples ( talking,speach), not writing. Matter: I believe you mean "form", the use of the word "matter" to refer to written material is a common error. Other then these two mistakes, i agree with you. In regards to account hacking, hope Anet or some one can help you out. ( the guy that lost the account, not Olfin ) Last edited by Nocere Moriari; Jul 24, 2006 at 01:57 AM // 01:57.. |

And I agree with you that it`s pointless to address this. If I did, that`s all I`d be doing when posting but according to Webster the 4th definition of articulate is: 4.Characterized by the use of clear, expressive language: an articulate essay. Anywhoo, I cut and pasted that from the forum rules so their words not mine. |

Yes maraxusofk I could of had customized all my valuables but im a business man .
And I have gotten very paranoid also after it happend to me. I use zonealarm firewall,spyware doctor and free avg. And I also found the probable cause of the hacking. While scanning with spyware doctor i stumbled upon a trojan banker . some info: Trojan.Banker.DK is a trojan that aims at stealing online banking information like username and password from the victim machine and sending it to its creator through SMTP. But it can also steal username and passwords and instal keyloggers. |
